Ariane Bois est romancière, diplômée en journalisme de New York University et a vécu quatre ans à New York et aux Etats-Unis. Elle est l’auteur de Et le jour pour eux sera comme la nuit (Ramsay, 2009 ; J’ai Lu, 2010) qui a obtenu 3 prix littéraires, Le Monde d’Hannah (Robert Laffont, 2011 ; J’ai lu, 2014) et Sans oublier (Belfond, 2014, prix Exbrayat ) ; Pour Le Gardien de nos frères (Belfond, 2015), elle a été récompensée par le Prix Wizo 2016 et deux autres prix.

Dakota Song est son cinquième roman qui se consacre à l’immeuble le Dakota de New-York dans les années 70. Ariane Bois nous parle de cette période passionnante. Un très grand roman. Rencontre.

Une saga très romanesque sur toute une décennie au cœur du New York électrique des années 70 et autour de personnages fictifs ou bien réels : Andy Warhol, John Lennon, Leonard Bernstein, Lauren Bacall, Robert Mapplethorpe, Patti Smith, Frank Sinatra, Lou Reed …

Un excellent roman sur le New York des années 70 et l’immeuble culte le Dakota. Ariane Bois offre un texte richement documenté, appuyé par des recherches sur les lieux et auprès de nombreux témoignages de New Yorkais.

La lecture de Dakota song rend enthousiaste, on (re)vit avec nostalgie cette époque fascinante. La plume d’Ariane Bois vous agrippe. Pris au piège, vous avalerez ce premier volume avec gourmandise, comme un Armistead Maupin. Oui, premier volume, car maintenant qu’on adhère, après les années 70, la rédaction attend avec joie les années 80. Le temps nous dira si notre vœu sera exaucé.
